Decorative Resin USB

Objective: Make resin USBs as gifts. They don't hold any memory, they're just meant to look nice. Problem: First batch came out muddy and undefined — secondary color wisps mixed into the base color, and the glow powder fell to the bottom. Solution: Wait 20 minutes after pouring the base resin so it thickens enough to suspend the second color and the glow powder. Made for coworkers at a biotech startup internship. Each USB has a UV LED inside that charges the glow powder suspended in the resin when plugged in. The LEDs connect to the 5V in/out on the USB head, with a 75-ohm resistor in series. They don't hold memory — micro USBs with storage would have been around $5 each, too expensive at the gift quantity I wanted to make.
